Don Alfonso 1890 offers an eight-course tasting menu where you can sample innovative offerings such as ice-creamed eel with sturgeon caviar and tagliatelle noodles infused with wild rose. Perched at an elevation of 140 feet above sea level, Casa Loma is visible from almost everywhere in the neighbourhood. Casa Loma is the largest residence ever built in Toronto, and it serves as a popular location for weddings and film and television shoots. Casa Loma’s screen appearances include being used as Wayne Manor in the TV show Titans, Hogwarts in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the Beast’s castle in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. Casa Loma hosts around 250 private events and more than 650,000 visitors every year. The castle is open daily for tours of its beautifully furnished interiors and lavishly landscaped gardens. The adjacent Spadina Museum is another gorgeous historic property built in the 1860s. The Spadina House’s interior and surrounding gardens faithfully recreate the life of Toronto’s wealthiest citizens between the 1900s and 1930s. The nearby Tollkeeper’s Cottage preserves a more humble residence from the 1830s. Extending along the Casa Loma neighbourhood’s north-eastern boundary with South Hill, Sir Winston Churchill Park and Nordheimer Ravine offer lush unspoiled greenery, stunning hilltop views, old-growth oak trees, and a dog park.
